Tory peer branded an 'idiot' as House of Lords gets heated over Brexit
Watch: Tory peer Lord Robathan came under attack in the Upper Chamber.
According to the parliamentary authorities, the House of Lords is made up of people from all walks of life who “use their experience from inside and outside of Parliament to check and challenge the Government”.
But they are not averse to the odd internal row, too.

Ex-defence minister Lord Robathan then ramped up the rhetoric, accusing his colleague of seeking to "destroy Brexit".
That led one fired-up peer to declare: "You are an idiot."
